If you've never tried biltong, you're in for a revelation. Unlike beef jerky, which is cooked at high heat, biltong is air-dried at room temperature over 7 to 10 days using salt, vinegar, and traditional spices like coriander. The result is a tender, deeply flavoured meat snack with protein and less sodium than most jerky.
Biltong has been a staple in South Africa for centuries, and at Bokkie's we've been brining that tradition to Canada since 2011, made fresh right here in our Barrie butcher shop.
